Williams of the one part and Joel B. Williams of the other part. Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of Seventeen hundred and Seventy dollars by the said Joel B. Williams to the said James L. Williams in hand paid or secured to be paid, the said James L. Williams doth grant unto the said Joel B. Williams with general warranty, all that piece or parcel of land lying the the County of Nottoway upon Big Nottoway River bounded by the lands of Thos. W. Williams, Francis W. Epes and Joel B. Williams, containing One Hundred and forty six acres more or less, being the land devised to me by the will of my mother Eliza J. Williams dec'd. Witness the signature and seal of the said James L. Williams. Jas. L. Williams Seal In Nottoway County Court Clerk's Office 5 April 1858 The foregoing deed James L. Williams to Joel B. Williams was this day lodged in the said Office and being acknowledged by said James L. Williams admitted to record. Teste: Richard Epes C.C. Richard Epes C.C. In Nottoway County Court Clerk's Office March 21, 1881 The foregoing deed was this day again filed in said Office and with the certificate annexed admitted to record again, its record having been destroyed in 1865 by the Federal Army. Williams of the other part-- Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of Fifteen Hundred dollars by the said J. B. Williams to the said F. S. Williams in hand paid, the said F. S. Williams doth grant unto the said J. B. Williams with general warranty all that piece or parcel of land lying in the County of Nottoway upon Cox Road bounded by the lands of F. C. Williams on the North, Cox Road on the East, and on the South and West by the lands of D. D. and W. O. Willliams, containing One hundred and fifty acres more or less, being the land devised to me by the will of my mother Eliza J. Williams dec'd. Witness the signature & seal of the said F. S. Williams.
