This indenture made this 11th day of September and year of Christ one thousand 
eight hundred between Thomas Wingo and Mary his wife of the County of 
Cumberline of the one part and Shadrack Holt of Nottoway County of the other 
part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Wingo and Mary his wife for and in 
consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds of good and lawful money of 
Virginia to them in hand paid by the said Shadrack Holt before the ensealing 
(sic) and delivering of these presents doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and 
of every part thereof doth acquit and discharge the said Shadrack Holt his 
heirs Exec administrators and assigns hath granted bargained and sold aliened 
releasd and confirmed doth grant bargain sell --- alien and release and 
confirm to the said Shadrack Holt his heirs and assigns forever that piece or 
parcel of land of the said Thomas Wingo and Mary his wife lying and being in 
the (sic “County” omitted) of Nottoway on the Branches of flat Creek and 
containing fifty three acres and bounded as follows, Beginning on a Red oak on 
Edward Jones line thence anew line to a fence on a gully 79 poles thence with 
the Gully to a branch 16 poles thence with the branch 144 poles Barbee 
Miller’s line to a corner white oak there with his line 19 poles to a corner 
white oak on the road thence with the Road 72 poles to a piece of said Edwd 
Jones’s line thence his line to sd Jones corner pointers thence with his line 
87 poles to the beginning.
Together with all priviledges profits Hereditaments & appurtenances whatsoever 
to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and 
reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and Profits of the premises 
and every part thereof and all the estate right interest clame and demands 
whatsoever in law or equity of them the said Thomas Wingo and Mary his wife in 
and to the said land and premises or any part thereof To have and to hold all 
and singular the land and premises and every part thereof unto the said 
Shadrack Holt his heirs and assigns forever and the sd Thomas Wingo and Mary 
his wife and their heirs and all and singular the above mentioned land and 
premises and every part thereof with appurtenances unto the said Shadrack Holt 
his heirs and assigns against them the said Thomas Wingo and Mary his wife and 
their heirs and all and every other person and persons whatsoever shall and 
will warrant and forever deferred by these presents.  In Witness whereof the 
said Thomas Wingo and Mary his wife hath hereunto set their hands and seals 
the day and year above written

      In Nottoway County Court September 11th 1800 Thomas Wingo and Mary his 
wife acknowledged this deed indented she being first privily examined and 
voluntarily assenting thereto which is ordered to be recorded.
