Horace Jeffress, of Nottoway County, Virgin- ia, being of sound mind and disposing memory doth make and ordain this my last will and tes- tament, revoking all other wills I may have made I will and devise my just debts to be paid - I give and bequeath to Miss Pattie Hines for long and faithful service, Furniture for one room, sewing machine, one bed and bed clothes, some table ware and table, - all cows and hogs that I may own at time of my death, also all chick- ens and sheep I may have - , also all stock I may own - the Bank of Burkeville I give and bequeath to Paul Stafford - the boy whom I got from the Henry Watson home in Bal- timore, the land upon which he now resides, about 170 acres, line commencing at or near Mar- tha Crally mail box - also the three lots and two houses I own at Burkeville - I give and bequeath to my nephews E. Stanley Jeffress and Luther C. Jeffress the residue of my estate, both personal and real and appoint both of them - either of which may act, my Exec- utors and ask the Court to require no bond or security of either of them - W. Horace Jeffress Feby 20/1913- This will and testament is not witnessed but Mr. Chas.- F. Deane, the Clerk of the Court knows my writing and signature - W. Horace Jeffress - I request the Court to appoint no appraisers of my estate W. Horace Jeffress In Nottoway Circuit Court Clerk's Office, Decem- ber 2, 1913 - a writing bearing date the 20 day of Feby. 1913 purporting to be the last will and testament of W. Horace Jeffress dec'd was this day presented to the Clerk of the Circuit Court for the County of Nottoway and offered for pro- bate and there being no subscribing witnesses, thereto, the said will being wholly in the hand- writing of the testator, his hand writing was pro- ven by the oaths of R. S. Beville & C. D. Epes, it is admitted to probate & ordered to be record- ed as and for the true last will and testa- ment of W. Horace Jeffress, deceased - And on motion of E. Stanley Jeffress, one of the executors named in said will, Luther C. Jeffress, the other Executor named in said will appeared in person & declined to qualify, who entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of Ten Thousand Dollars, conditioned and payable as the law directs, with no security., the will dispensing with same, a certificate for obtain- ing a probate of the said will is granted him in due form. Jeffress as if it was his own estate - I want you to assign a bond of $1000 of the Mary Hale Coal Co. to Miss Pattie Hines - additional to what is mentioned in my will - also give her what Willie Hines owes on his land, about $175.00 - give Miss Pat my horse and buggy, also give her a piece of land commencing at Henry Allens corner down the Road to a white oak tree near the old ice pond branch, then across to Willie Hines line near the spring, then along Willie Hines line to Henry Allen's then to the starting point - about 50 acres - I want you to give Paul Stafford the stock I own in the Bank of Crewe, 10 shares - Give to Morris Hardy, five hundred dollars Give to Hudson Wilson, two hundred & fifty dollars Give to Joe H. Wilson two hundred dollars is given while I am living and not subject to inventory - is private for you, E Stanley Jeffress, imposed upon you by your Uncle. W.
