W. Oliver of the County of Nottoway and State of Virginia being of sound mind but in feeble health, knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time it may happen, have determined to make this my last will and Testament revoking all other heretofore made by me in the words following: 1st I desire that my funeral expenses and all my just debts shall be paid as soon after my death as may be consistent with the duties of my Executor herein & hereafter appointed. 2nd I give to each of my children – R. W. Oliver, M. J. Oliver, Mary J. Oliver (now M. J. Burton, Jos. [Jas.?] T. Oliver, Martha B. Oliver, Geo. W. Oliver, Jr., Susan J. Oliver and Nancy B. Oliver a good family Bible & hymn book – the cost of each Bible & hymn book not to exceed eight dollars. 3rd I give and bequeath to my three daughters Martha B. Oliver, Susan J. Oliver, and Nancy B. Oliver the whole of the balance of my estate both real and personal including land, household and kitchen furniture, plantation utensils, stock of all kinds, and all debts & property of whatsoever description which may be due or belonging to my estate at the time of my death. I hereby appoint Joseph Jennings of Lunenberg County VA Executor of this my last Will and Testament: but if from any cause, he may decline or prevented from performing the duties of this my last request, then it is my desire that Wm G. T Cralle Sen shall act as Executor of this my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this ninth (9th) day of January one thousand eight hundred and seventy four 1874. Written with my own hand. Geo. W. Oliver. In Nottoway County Court January 2nd 1879 A writing purporting (sp?) to be the last will and Testament of Geo. W. Oliver deceased was this day produced in Court and offered for proof, and there being no subscribing witnesses the handwriting of the testator was proved by the oaths of Richard Epes and G. T. Cralle, and said writing ordered to be recorded as the last will and testament of Geo. W. Oliver deceased. Teste Richd Epes C. C. [Note that his wife was Hannah A.
