I, William Stowe, of the County of Nottoway, Virginia, doth make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament being of sound mind and memory, Thanks be to almighty God for the same (viz). In the first place I desire all my just depts to be paid. [Item]: I give and bequeath to my two youngest sons the tract or parcel of land whereon I live to be devided in the following manner. branch- the upper part to my son Abraham Stowe and the plantation to my son John Stowe both of which I give to them and their heirs forever. In the case that either of my sons, john or Abraham should die without heir heir of their boddys lawfully begotten my will is that the children of the surviving son should take place (if any). Otherwise if they both should die without heir my will is- that the above mentioned land should be equally devided between my two daughters or there heirs of their boddy lawfully begotten & further my will is that my two daughters should continue peaceable on the said plantation without interuption untill married. [Item]: I give my son William Stowe one gun, one shallow dish, and two pewter plates. [Item]: I give my beloved wife Mary Stowe the use of the plantation stocks of all kinds during her life; after her death my will is that the working tools of all kinds I give to my two sons Abraham and John to be equally devided between them and my desire is that all of my stocks of all kinds be equally devided between Abraham Stowe, John Stowe, Jane Stowe, and Margaret Stowe. I likewise give to my two daughters one bed and furniture a piece to them & their heirs forever. I do hereby constitute and appoint Abraham stowe and Mary Stowe my Executor and Executrix to this Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this tenth day of August 1789.
