Williams Sr. of the County of Nottoway, Virginia, being of sound mind and disposing memory, but realizing the uncertainty of life, and the certainty of death, do make this my last will and testament as follows: 1st - I give unto my beloved wife Catherine Williams, in absolute fee simple title, my house tract of land containing about 150 acres, situated in Nottoway County, Virginia.-- The said land is bounded on the north by the lands of Thomas W. Williams, Jr. and the lands of R. Murdock, on the East by the lands of Mrs. Kate Lewis, on the west by the lands of Walter Ingram-- This is my homestead on which I now live and I give it-- in absolute fee simple title to my said wife Catherine Williams-- 2d. I give unto my said wife Catherine Williams all my personal property in absolute title. 3d. I give and bequeath unto my said wife Catherine Williams, for her life, about sixty acres of low grounds in Nottoway County, bounded on the north by the lands of Mrs. Kate Lewis, on the East, south, and west by Big Nottoway River -- At the death of my said wife, Catherine Williams, I give this sixty acres of low grounds to my said daughter Kate Lewis, in absolute fee simple title. I appoint my said wife, Catherine Williams, Executrix of this my last will and desire that no security be required of her as such-- I hereby revoke all previous wills and codicils hitherto made by me-- Witness my hand this 20th day of October 1913. Thos. W. Williams Sr. Signed, published and acknowledged by Thos. W. Williams, Sr. as and for his last will and testament, in the presence of us, who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereto subscribed our names as witnesses. This will, on one sheet of paper, the first sheet was signed by Thomas W. Williams, Sr. in our presence all three of us being present-- this the 20th day of October, 1913. J. A. Walker M. E. Brown Witnesses In Nottoway Circuit Court Clerk's Office Novembeer 25-1913-- A paper writing dated October 20, 1913, purporting to be the last will and testament of Thos. W. Williams Sr., dec'd was this day presented to the Clerk of the Circuit Court for the County of Nottoway and offered for probate and being duly proven in every respect as required by law, by the oath of J. A. Walker, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto it is admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded as & for the true last will and testament of Thos. W. Williams, Sr. deceased-- And on motion of Catherine Williams the Executrix named in said will who entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of Five Hundred Dollars, with no security, the will dispensing with same, a certificate for obtaining a probate of the said will is granted her in due form--She also took the oath required by law-- Given under my hand this 25 November 1913-- C.
