Williams of the county of Nottoway state of Virginia being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make my last will and testament in manner and form following hereby revoking and annulling all other wills by me made. In the first place I commit my soul to almighty God, who gave it and my body to the earth from whence it same to be buried in a Christian like manner. Item I give to my son Joel B. Williams one hundred acres of land joining the fifty acres given him by his farther (sic), and two negroes Creasy and Clay. Item I give to my daughter Sarah E. Streel (Street) Ama and her children. Item I give to my son Richard H. Williams one hundred and fifty acres of land and two negroes named Joanna and Sussex. Item I give to my daughter Cornelia R. Williams two negro girls namely Susan and Lucy. Item I give to my daughter Martha N.? Williams two negro girls namely Nancy and Eliza. Item I give to my son Thomas W. Williams one hundred and fifty acres of land and two negroes Enos and Ridly. Item I give to my daughter Anna L. Williams two negroes namely Tazwell and Rhody. Item I give to my son James L. Williams one hundred fifty acres of land and two negroes namely Moses and Mariah. Item I give to my son Frank S. Williams one hundred fifty acres of land and two negroes namely Jerry and Minnie. Item I give to sons David D. Williams and William Ovid Williams the four hundred and fifty acres belonging to the house lot & I wish that four hundred and fifty acres worked for the benefit of my three youngest children. I also wish it to be kept as a house and home for my single daughters untill William O. Williams is twenty one years old and then to be equally divided between David D. Williams and William O. Williams. I also wish them to draw two negroes apiece. Last my Item I give to my daughter Mary A. Williams the said negroes: Mary, Julia and Helen. Item In case my farther Joel Blackwell should will my children any part of his estate or money, so as to give one of my children more than another, I wish that that child or children to take less of my estate, so as to make them equal, except Sarah E. Streel (Street), she comes in for no more than the said negroes Ama and her children. the balance of my negroes that I have not named I wished kept together for the support and education of my five youngest children, with all the household and kitchen furniture, stocks of all kinds kept for the benefit of my single daughters and five youngest children, James and Frank untill of age; and to be equally divided between my children except Sarah B. Street when William Ovid is of age. I constitute and appoint my sons Thomas W. Williams and Richard H. Williams executors of this my last will and testament -- 15th March 1853. Eliza J. Williams Seal In Nottoway County Court 3rd August 1854 This writing, purported to be the last Will and Testament of Eliza J. Williams was produced in Court, by Rich’d H. and Thomas W. Williams, the Exors. therein named, and offered for proof: and there being no subscribing witnesses therein named, Lucy B. C. Hardy, Martha A. Grigery and James G. Blackwell being duly sworn depose and say that they are well acquainted with the handwriting of s’d Eliza J. Williams and that they verily believe the said writing and signature thereto to be wholly written in the proper hand writing of the said Eliza J. Williams, whereupon the said writing is ordered to be recorded as the true last will and testament of Eliza J. Williams dec’d. And on the motion of Tho’s W. Williams and Rich’d H. Williams the executors named in the said last will and testament, who took the several oaths required by Law & with security entered into and acknowledged a bond in the 0penalty of $50,000.00 (which said bond is ordered to be recorded.) Gunn and had Sallie and Eliza James (1805) In 1821 he married again Martha F. Dance and had William Fletcher. Eliza James Blackwell married William Williams, Jr (believed to be son of William Willams and Mary Jordan, this William Williams believed to be the son of Thomas Roper Williams and Elizabeth Watson (1st wife) of Amelia County.)
