Robt. Stubblefield's Company which was annexed to Col. Dark's Regt. Given under my hand this 13th day of May 17 1787. Signed: Nath. Welch I do, with the advice of council, hereby certify that John Groom about 39 years of age , late a private in the Militia of Orange County whose pay was at the rate of 24 pounds per annum was wounded by the loss of his leg while in the service of the United States as to entitle him to the sum of 15 pounds yearly; which allowance accordingly made him, to commence on the first day of January 1786.
