Native Virginian 25 September 1868
Died, at the residence of Dr. Thomas Woolfolk, on the 12th instant, Mrs. Emma J. 
Eggleston, wife of Mr. Robert Eggleston, in the 20th year of her age.

Thus has faded a flower too delicate for earth, leaving a sorrow-stricken and 
devoted husband, with a heart bursting with a grief which time can soften, but 
which only be heated by a trust in the precious love of a crucified Savior The 
bright, unearthly sweetness which lighted up her face for hours before her 
gentle spirit took its flight, spoke of peace and joy within; and we trust that 
God has gathered her into His fold -that she now chants before His throne and 
everlasting song. May Heaven bless the dear ones left behind, and prepare them 
to receive unfading crowns in the bright slimes of glory.
