Next I bequeath to my beloved wife Mildred Cox one Negro girl named Charity. Also I lone her all the rest of my Estate during her life, and after her death if I lose my land that I now live on that Abraham Estes purchased for me my Estate to be divided equally between my daughter Tabitha Wood and my son William D. Cox. If my land is recovered then my Estate to be divided equally amongst my three children Sally W. Estes Tabitha Wood and William D. Cox, grant my request when I am dead, October the 18th 1823 Thomas Cox I nominate & appoint my son William D. Cox and Richard Wood to this my Last Will and Testament. Signed and delivered in the presence of us Hickman Isbell Rich(ard) Isbell Will was ordered to be recorded by Joseph Williams, Clerk of Court for Surry County, on February 10, 1824.
