Morris Cemetery Location: 5 miles southeast of Stanley, Virginia. 2/10 mile north of Route #624. Page County, Virginia DATE: About 1840 OWNERS: 1831, James Calvin deeded to Joe Bailey 1880, R.S. Parks, special commissioner for Joe Bailey, deeded to Harriett F. Bailey 1912, Harriett F. Bailey deeded to Robert D. Bailey 1915, Robert D. Bailey deeded to John E. Koontz 1917, John D. Koontz deeded to Ray F. Koontz DESCRIPTION: This graveyard is located on a hill top, in a field, without a fence or wall to protect it. There are no inscriptions on the markers which are of native limestone rock. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: It is not known definitely that Joe Bailey is buried here, but old man Bob Bailey and his family are buried here, and long ago Hiram Bailey was buried here. This part of the country was then too thickly settled with Baileys, and most of them raised very large families and were industrious, prosperous people.
