Morris Cemetery Location: 3 miles northeast of Stanley, Virginia on the south side of Route #12 Page County, Virginia DATE: 1832. date of oldest inscription. OWNERS: S. H. Spitler. (1937) DESCRIPTION: This is a privately owned family burying ground in very bad condition, grown up in bushes and briars. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Here we find a very old graveyard of the Biedler family. Eulerick Biedler and Barbara Biedler, the father and mother of Martin Biedler, and grandfather and grandmother of Lester L. Biedler. The Biedlers are relatives of the Brumbacks of Page County. Eulerick Biedler purchased this old place from a Mr. Ruffner in 1805 and lived here until his death in 1847. Eulerick Biedler owned several slaves during his lifetime, and the old slave house, which the slaves lived in, is still standing at the old place. In memory of Eulerick Biedler died Jan. 7, 1847 aged 67 years 1 month & 13 days In Memory of Barbara wife of Eulerick Biedler died Sept. 20, 1860 aged 83 years 7 months & 3 days 1832 Elizabeth Tucker Deceased Dec. 14th SOURCES OF INFORMATION: Informants: Lester L.
