Frank Flyn Farm. Page County, Virginia DATE: 1825, date of oldest grave (marker). OWNERS: On Frank Flyn Farm. DESCRIPTION: This is a large graveyard in an open field. Many of the stones have been knocked down by cattle while pasturing. The marble slab which covers the entire grave of Mrs. Jane E. Leeper, at one time rested on a brick foundation two feet high. These bricks have been stolen, and the marble slab was broken when it fell. Some of the markers were made of iron at the Blackford Iron Furnace. The days and months are not capitalized. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Inscriptions of tombstones: Here rest the remains of Mrs. Jane E. Leeper eldest daughter of Benjamin and Isabell Blackford and wife of Wm Leeper Born 31st August 1798, Died Feb. 17th 1826 Exemplary as Daughter, Sister, Wife and Mother In each character she was loved A fond father dedicated this stone To her Memory Sacred to the Memory of Andrew Holtzman who departed this life on Thursday the 20 day of September Anno Domini 1827 About 60 yrs. Sacred to the memory of Isabella Shuff who departed this life on Wednesday the 7th September 1831 Age 5 yrs In Memory of George D.
