PAGE COUNTY, VA - CEMETERIES – Bumgardner Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, Bumgardner graveyard: 1936 Oct. 27 Research made by Vivian Black Cemetery Location: On the west side of the Shenandoah River, on County Route #660, two miles west of State Route #12, a short distance from the old David Bumgardner brick house. Page County, Virginia DATE: 1849, date of oldest inscription. OWNERS: It is now owned by Aaron Kibler. (1936) DESCRIPTION: It is a private graveyard in an open field surrounded by a wire fence, which is in fair condition. The tombstones are homemade. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: E. H. Emiah Bumgardner Died Sept. 1860 Aged 6 Years 5 Months In Memory of Elizabeth Bumgardner who departed this life on the 8th day of Sept. 1849 Aged 3 years 5 Months & 1 day There are other graves but no other stones dating prior to 1860.
