Morris Cemetery Location: 2 miles southeast of Alma, Virginia, 1/8 mile south of Route #638. Page County, Virginia DATE: None. OWNERS: The present owner is W. J. Hillard. (1936) DESCRIPTION: This is a public graveyard in very bad condition, all grown up in large trees and bushes. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: This is a very old graveyard; we just can’t say how old. Richard Short, grandfather of John Short who is now 95 years old, was buried here, and Peter Dovel was also buried here, so we can see that it is very old. There are not any names or inscriptions at all on the old markers. SOURCES OF INFORMATION: Informants: Charlie Dovel and John Short, Alma, Va.
