Morris Cemetery Location: 2.5 miles north of Newport, Virginia. Just west of the Old Gordonsville Newmarket Turnpike. Page County, Virginia DATE: 1857, date of the oldest inscription on tombstone. OWNERS: G. M. Painter, present owner. (1936) DESCRIPTION: This is a private family graveyard, but in very bad condition being overgrown with briars and bushes. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The old Ambrose Rinehart graveyard like other country graveyards has no inscriptions on the oldest tombstones. However, there are authentic reports that this is a very old graveyard which has long been a landmark in Page County. The following are the inscriptions on the tombstones: A.
