Morris Cemetery Location: 6 miles north of Shenandoah, Virginia on the east bank of the Shenandoah River across from Newport. Page County, Virginia DATE: Unknown. OWNERS: The present owner is George Strole. (1937) DESCRIPTION: It is a privately owned graveyard in bad condition. It is grown up in bushes. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: This is a very old graveyard, but there are no names on markers; no inscription at all. Some of the old graves are those of old slaves of old George Strole’s grandfather. George Strole’s father and mother are buried here.
