This is just back of the Herbert Barbee home, Hamburg Village. Page County, Virginia DATE: 1860, date of oldest inscription. OWNERS: It is now owned by the heirs of Herbert Barbee. (1936) DESCRIPTION: It is surrounded by a paling fence, privately owned, and in good condition. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: There are several stones without any dates or names. I found only one stone dating prior to 1860. Elizabeth Tobin was the wife of Gideon Tobin, a cobbler of Hamburg. In Memory of Elizabeth Tobin Who departed this life Apr. 18th, 1860 Aged 70 y.
