The GPS coordinates are 36.831500, -80.1403000. This cemetery is not easy to get to as it is accessible only by foot or four wheeler as it is deep in the forest on top of a mountain. It is approximately .92 miles the from Heidelbach School Road. It is about .36 miles from the American Electric Power line that runs through the area. O.E. Pilson's book describes this cemetery as "Located near the site of the old Via School, on the Poor Mountain Ridge, not far from Philpott Lake." According to Pilson, when he surveyed this cemetery on 10 June 1977, in addition to the Sarah Martin grave there were 6 other graves "with crude stones, no inscriptions." Since that time, a family member has actually placed stones in the cemetery. It is visited quite often and is fairly clean taking into consideration that some of the graves date back to 1825.
