  This cemetery consists of only two graves that being Dovie 
Wright Martin who passed away in 1931 and Peter Martin, her 
husband who passed away in 1953.  They are buried on a 
"shelf" above Puppy Creek in a VERY remote area of Patrick 
County, Virginia that is only accessible by foot or four-
wheeler.  They are not buried in the exact same location but 
within 125 feet of each other.   Dovie is buried at GPS 
coordinates 36.82999, -80.13385 and Peter is buried at GPS 
coordinates 36.82970, -80.13405.  Dovie was buried at her 
"selected place" in 1931.  However, her grave would wash out 
when Puppy Creek escaped its banks so when Peter was buried 
twenty-two years later, he was buried toward the old roadbed 
which is a little more elevated.   Neither burial has a 
tombstone, but Dovie's grave has a huge mound on it to 
prevent erosion due to the creek and Peter has a crude 
fieldstone.   Family members have verified the burials with 
photographs.
