 Memo that I Perrin Cardwell of Patrick County of State of Virginia hath 
brought into this state Va two negroes one negro man named hues about twenty 
five year of age and one woman name lully nearly about the same age now that 
the said negroes  being deede d to him by his father Thomas Cardwell from 
North Carolina and that I have not brought the said negroes into the state for 
sale nor to evade the law of the land of the state but for my own use given 
under my hand this 15th day of July 1818

Justices and made oath to the above minutes and give under my hand this 15 day
