into Court their Reports in the following manner, to wit, That in the lower 
District -- James Taylor, Peter Frans, & Brett Stovall were Elected.  That 
in the District North of the Bull Mountain, John Hall, William Packwood & 
Alexr. Lackey were Elected, & That in the upper District John Nunns, George 
Carter and Peter Bellow were Elected.

OCTOBER COURT
(25 October 1798)

A Deed from Archelaus Hughes Senr. to Archelaus Hughes Junr. Provd. by 1 
Witness & O.R.

Also a Deed from Henry Smith to Terry Hughes Acknowledged & a Dedimus for 
the Privy examination of Margrett the Wife returned and Ordered to be 
Recorded.

Augustine Thomas foreman, Beveridge Hughes, Richard Pilson, James Morrison, 
James Turner, John Turner, David Taylor, John Hall (Hoff?), Samuel Harris, 
John Connor, John Chitwood, Moses Harbour, Jeremiah Burnett Senr. Robert 
Lockhart, Adrian Anglin, James Fulkerson & Richard Thomas were Sworn a Grand 
Jury of Inquest for the Body of this County whereupon they withdrew to 
Consult on their Presentments.

Peter Scales Qualified as a Justice of the Peace and a Justice in Chancery 
according to Law.
