Adkinson to Jeremiah Helton Acknowledged and Salley the wife of William was privily examined, relinquished her right of dower and the same was Ordered to be record. A Deed from Jesse Cassada & Elisabeth Cassada to Obediah Belcher Acknowledged in Court and the same was Ordered to be recorded. Joseph Gray is appointed Survey of the road in the Place of Daniel Gray, & that the said Danl. be added to his list of hands. Charles Sharp is Appointed Surveyr. of the road from Taylors to Elliotts & the list filed be his gang. John Sharp is Appointed Surveyor of the road from the fork roads near Cammerons race Pathes To Thomas Penns Mill & the list filed be his gang. A Deed from Eliphaz Shelton to Wm. Hopkins Jr. Proved & O.R. MARCH COURT (12 March 1819) Elizabeth Shelton, wife of Claiborne Shelton appeared voluntarily in Court and relinquished her right of dower which she has in & to two certain Tracts pieces or parcels of land Conveyed by her said Husband to George Carter the 14th day of November 1816, and of record in this Court and Containing in all as will appear by reference to the said deeds of Conveyance one hundred and thirty seven acres. JUNE COURT (17 June 1819) The County Levy for 1819 brought forward $50.00 To Robert Cook esqr. atto. for the Commonwealth 50.00 To S. JULY COURT (15 July 1819) Abner Harbour is appointed surveyor of the road in place of Jno. Slaughter resigned, and its Ordered that the list of the hand[s] filed be his gang. William McCraw is appointed Guardian for Leathy R. Moore, daughter of William Moore decd., whereupon he entered into bond Conditioned as the law directs with Wm. Hanby and Gabriel Hanby his securitys. Gallihue Moore is also appointed Guardian for Alford & Jno. Moore, Children and heirs of William Moore decd., whereupon he is to enter into bond Conditioned as the law directs at the next Court with good & sufficient security. Gabriel Hanby is appointed Guardian for Polina Jane Moore, daughter of William Moore decd., whereupon he entered into bond Conditioned as the Law directs with Samuel Hanby ?hich, his security. William Carter Jr. is appointed Guardian for Madison & William Moore, sons of William Moore decd., whereupon he entered into bond Conditioned as the law directs with....[left blank]. A deed from Jno. Sharp senr. to Jno. Crum acknowledged & Ordered to be recorded. Mathew Sandifur is allowed one hundred and fifty dollars for his services rendered this year in making out the Lands & property Books which was ordered to be Certified to the auditer of Public accounts. AUGUST COURT (12 August 1819) M. R. Hughes foreman, Charles Lewis, Joshua Haynes, Jno. Bowman Jr. Benjamin Landreth, Joseph Willis, Mathew Sandifur, Jese Moore, Isaac Martin, Jno. Adams, Jno. Crum, Elijah Dehart, David Taylor, James Murphy, Joseph Kennerly, Jese Reynolds, Thomas H. Watson, and Jacob Hudson were sworn a Grand Jury of inquest for the body of this County whereupon they withdrew to consult of their presentments. A Deed from Jno. McAlexander to David Owens with the Certificate of acknowledgement before two of the Commonwealth Justices for this County, was exhibited in Court, Examined & ordered to be recorded. NOVEMBER COURT (12 November 1819) Abram Keaton vs. Wm. Lyon & Richard Thomas, the defendants Plead not guilty and issue, and a Jury sworn to wit, Samuel Flippin, George New, Samuel Hanby Senr. John Epperson, William Hanby, Isham Slate, Thomas Snow, Carrington Dillion, Abram Penn, Frederick Critz, Shadrack Turner & William Witt. Verdict returned in the following words, to wit We of the Jury find for the Plaintiff forty five dollars damages, whereupon the Court doth ? that the plaintiff recover the sum aforesaid in form aforesaid. DECEMBER COURT (16 December 1819) A Deed from Elisha Packwood to Jacob Wright Proved & O.R. Also a Deed from Leonard Sharp to John B. Hudson, the same. Wm. Lyon & Jacob Grigg Deputy Sheriffs for Wm. Carter Sheriff of this County returned their list of Insolvents tythes for 1818 & was accordingly allowed. Also his Property list for same year. Ordered that the following claims be certified to the Auditer of ...[Public] Accounts to wit, To Wm. Lyon for Travelling & Compairing the Poles of the Member of congress $4.87. To the same for summoning a Court on negro Church $4.20. Also on Thomas Adney $4.20. Also 21 cents also $1.26 for executing a States Warrant etc., & that the Clerk further Certify that three CommonWealths exors vs. Burnetts & Commings. Jesse Mankin appeared in Court & took the several oaths required by Law to be taken as a Justice of the Peace for this County and accordingly took his seat as such. William Lyon & Jacob Grigg Deputy Sherifs for Wm. Carter Sheriff of this County returned their list of Insolvent Land tax for 1819 wh was examined allowed and Ordered to be certified to the Auditer of Public Accounts according to law.
