Harrold/Waughhop Deed, 1832 - Patrick Co. VA Deed from William Harrold to James W. Waughhop, 1832 Patrick County, Virginia, Deed Book 6, page 321 This Indenture made this 15th day of January 1832 between William Harrold and Frances his wife of Henry County, State of Indiana of the one part, and James Waughhoop of Patrick County Virginia of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said William Harrold and Frances his wife for and in consideration of Three Hundred Dollars to them in hand paid by the said James W. Waughhop before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold unto the said James W. Waughhop and his heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing by estimation one hundred and thirty acres being and lying in the counties of Grayson and Patrick adjoining each other. The one tract containing one hundred acres being part of a tract of Two hundred acres whereon the said William Harrold formerly lived which was conveyed to him by William East and of record in Grayson Court the tract thus conveyed being bounded by a dividing line made between William Harrold, Jr. and James W. Waughhop and bounded by the lines made by the surveyors of Grayson County at their request by mutual consent lying in Grayson. The other tract containing one hundred and thirty acres lying in Patrick County adjoining the first named land and bounded by lines set forth in a Deed of Conveyance from James Dalton and Recorded in Patrick Court together with the appurtenances and the said William Harrold and Frances his wife doth agree to covenant with the said James W. Waughop and his heirs that they will warrant and defend the above two tracts of land with the appurtenances unto the said James W. Waughhop and his heirs forever against the claim or claims of all manners of persons whatsoever. Teste, James Dickerson, Clerk Note: William Harrold is identified as William Harrold, Sr., son of Jonathan Harrold and Catherine Hiatt, and grandson of Richard and Mary Beals. His wife herein named is Frances Sturnam. William Harrold died in Henry County, Indiana in 1839. The William Harrold, Jr. mentioned herein is their son. Submitted by William E.
