Martin, party of the second part, WITNESSETH: That in the consideration of the sum of ($600) SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS, in hand paid, the receipt of which has hereby been acknowledged, the said parties of the first part do grant until the second party, C.B. Martin with General Warranty, all of one certain tract of land situated in Patrick County and State of Virginia, on the waters of Smiths River, containing (42 1/2) forty-two and one half acres being the same more or less and is bounded by the lands of W.A. Martin and others. This is the same tract of land that J.J. Moran and wife and others conveyed to Richard Martin by deed dated April the 30th day, 1910, and recorded in Patrick County Clerk's Office, in Deed Book No. 37, at pages 532 to 533, reference to which is hereby given for a better description of said tract of land, except that 1/2 of acre is hereby retained and reserved for a grave yard. Said 1/2 acre is situated on top of a hill near the public road and is situated immediately surrounding the grave where the children of Richard Martin are buried and the right_ingress and egress from the public road to the said grave _ is reserved. The said James Hopkins and Nora Ella Hopkins, his wife, covenant that they have the right to convey the said land to the grantee; that they have done no act to encumber the said land; that the grantee shall have quiet possession of the said land, free from all encumbrances, and that the said parties of the first part will execute such further assurance of the said land as may be requisite. Matthews, Clerk Circuit Court for the county aforesaid, in the State of Virginia, do certify that James Hopkins and Nora E. Hopkins, his wife, whose names are signed to the foregoing writign, bearing date on the 11th day of October, 1919 have acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid.
