Lee (by court) /DeHart Deed, 1878 - Patrick Co. VA "Archivist note: W. D. Vaughn, commissioner, acting on the part of Lot Lee, then deceased, sells land to Fleming Dehart. Release of wife's dower is also transcribed & submitted in a seperate file." Source: Patrick County Virginia Deeds, Book 21, Page 101 This deed make and entered into this 14th day of August 1878 between W.D. Vaughan commissioner of the Circuit Court of Patrick in the Chancery court of John B. Payne as Lot Lee then of the first part and Fleming Dehart of the county of Patrick and state of Virginia of the second part, witnessth that whereas in the case of the aforesaid the said court did enter a decree directing that the lands the bill aforesaid to be sold and here as whereas public auction by commissioners appointed for that purpose and whereas Fleming Dehart being the highest bidder become the purchaser and whereas the purchase money has been collected and disbursed by Receivers appointed by the said court for that purpose is directed by decree of said court entered in said court and whereas said court did by an order entered I the case aforesaid at the April Term 1876 appointed the said W.D. Vaughan a commissioner to convey the said land to the said Fleming Dehart now therefore in consideration of the permission aforesaid the said the W.D. Vaughan as commission as aforesaid doth hereby convey the special warranty to the said Fleming Dehart all the land in the bill and proceeding of the said Chancery court of John B. Payne as Lot Lee mentioned including the ___ ___ the dower right of the wife of said Lot Lee for a more particular description of said lands reference is made to the commission accounts report filed in said case and to the record there referred to. Witness the following signatures and seal. W. D. Vaughan Commissioner Floyd County to wit: This day W.D. Vaughan commissioner appeared before me. W. H. Morgan a commissioner in Chancery for the said County and acknowledge the aforesaid writing to be his act. Grant under my hand as Commissioner for aforesaid this 14th day of August 1878. W. H.
