     James Pleasants Junr. Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia:
To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting: Know Ye, That in 
conformity with a Survey made on the eighteenth day of December 1822 By 
virtue of a Land Office Exchange Treasury warrant N 2393 issued Dec 19th 
1831......
there is granted by the said commonwealth, unto William Lyon,

A certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing One hundred and fifty acres, 
Situate in the County of Patrick, on the head waters of Sycamore Creek and 
bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at his and John F Canadys corner 
chesnut tree thence new line S 72°  E 78 poles to a chesnut tree.  East 66 
poles to a chesnut tree(?) on the Side of a Ridge, thence down the Same. N 
112° East and to a branch with the Same 243 poles to a white Oak in a Major 
Hancocks line, thence with that line S 68° w 120 poles to a white Oak and 
the Mouth of a branch in said Lyons line and thence with the Same S 27° w 
200 poles to the Beginning

To have and to hold the said Tract or Parcel of Land with its appurtenances,
to the said William Lyon,
and his heirs forever.

     In witness whereof, the said James Pleasants Junr. Esq. Governor of the
Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his Hand, and caused the lesser 
Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond, on the 
twenty-Second day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and Twenty-four and of the Commonwealth the Forty Ninth.
