Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds Curant (sic) money of Virginia to him in hand paid Before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath Granted bargained and Sold Released & Confirmed unto the said John Mize his heirs and assigns one certain Tract or parcel of land situate Lying and Being in the County aforesaid one Hundred acres more or less Bounded as follows Beginning near a Corner Red Oak where Elisha Packwoods path crossing (sic) the old line thence along that line North sixty West 140 poles crossing Two branches to a white Oak South 35 West 142 poles to James Ingrams post oak thence with that line North 17 West 28 poles to a white oak thence new line North 26 West one hundred Thirty Three poles Crossing a branch to a white oak North Eighty four west to said Packwoods path as it meanders to the Beginning Together with all woods ways waters and water Courses Trees Orchards Houses fences and other the Emoluments thereunto Belonging or in anywise appertaining to have and to hold the same unto the aforesaid John Mize his heirs & assigns forever with its appertainences (sic) to hold and fully enjoy the same, and I, Josiah Reives my heirs & executors &c forever warrant and defend the right and title of the land and to him the said John Mize & his heirs against the Claim or Demand of any other person or persons whatsoever Either in law or Equity. In witness whereof I have have (sic) hereunto set my hand & seal the day & year first above written~ Signed Sealed and § Delivered in the § Joseph Reives, L. S. presents of § her Harden Harston Constandestion X Reives, L.S. Jesse Corn mark Charles Foster Sr. Patrick County VA ~ We Wm. Hancock & Jesse Corn Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid & state of Virginia do hereby Certify that Constandextion Reives wife of the within Joseph Reaves (sic) a party to the within Deed for the Conveyance of Real Estate to John Mize of the aforesaid County bearing date this Second day of November an within described Personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid and being Examined by us privately and apart from her ? husband and having the Deed fully Explained to her She the said Constandextion Reives acknowledged the same to be her Voluntary act and deed and declared that she had willingly done the same Given under our hands and Seals this 2d day of November 1816 Wm Hancock, L.S. Jesse Corn, L. S. Patrick April Court 1817 This Deed with the certificate of relinguishment by the wife of the within named Joseph Reaves (sic) before Wm.
