VA Patrick County, Va., Deed Book 4, p. 117 Grantor: John Sharp Grantee: John Spencer Date: 27 December 1814 THIS INDENTURE made this 27th December in the year of our lord christ one thousand eight Hundred and fourteen Between John Sharp of the state of Virginia of the one part & John Spencer of Patrick County and State of Virginia of the other part witnesseth that the said John Sharp for and in consideration of the sum of one Hundred Dollars to him in Hand paid by the said John Spencer the recept whereof the said John Sharp doth hereby acknowledge hath given granted bargained & sold unto the said John Spencer his heirs & assigns forever a certain track of parcil of land lying and being in the said county of Patrick on the waters of North Mayo river containing seventy acres more or less bounded as followeth to wit begining at pointers in pardes (?) line near the top of a ridge near the place Where the widow Daniel family lived thence with the same south fifteen degrees East to his corner white oak thence south fifty nine Degrees East seventy Two poles to John randals Corner White Oake thence with the said randles line a south East coars to a consented corner box oake between Ross and Sneed thence with the same to a consented corner chesnut between Ross and Robet Lockhart thence with their consented line Randals corner Spanish oake on the top of the Hill thence with a consented line Between John Sharp & John Spencer a crossing the creek to the back line on the ridge thence with same the first station - with all woods ways water courses and every other thing in anywise thereunto belonging unto the said or parcel of land above mentioned & Discribed and all the estate Right and title Interest claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said John Sharp of in & to the said tract or parcel of land and primises above mentioned and every part thereof to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and all and singular the primeses above mention and every part and parcel thereof with the appertances thereunto belonging unto the said John Spencer his heirs or assigns forever and said John Sharp warrant and defend all the right and title of the aforesaid primises unto the said John spencer against himself his heirs and all other persons whasoever In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year above written --- John Sharp L.S.
