REDD Result of Court decree May 1833 in case of: Zachariah TYLER, plaintiff, vs. Joseph SHARP, et al, defendants Date: 15 August 1833 This Indenture made this 15th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three Between Matthew Sandifur appointed Commissioner by the County of Patrick by a decree of Court in the case of Zachariah Tyler plaintiff and Joseph Sharp and others defendants, the benefit of which is transfered by the plaintiff for valuable considerations to James M. Redd, made at May Court 1833 of the one part and James M. Redd of Patrick County & State of Virginia of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Matthew Sandifur by reason of the provisions of the said decree and for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold unto the said James M. Redd a certain tract of land in the said decree mentioned containing one hundred and forty one acres lying and being in the County of Patrick on the waters of Russels Creek be the same more or less and bounded as follows to wit: Begining at a small chesnut oak on the dividing ridge between Peters Creek & Russels creek waters, thence N. 33 E 52 poles to a Chesnut oak N 87 1/2 E 80 poles to a pine N 46 poles crossing a branch to a pine N 60 E 44 poles to a chesnut in Joshua Hudson's line, with it So. 25 E 66 poles to a chesnut, So 85 E 42 poles to a poplar N 21 E 42 poles crossing a branch to a chesnut. Thence new So 63 E 10 poles to a chesnut oak in William Carters line With it South 11 W. 120 poles crossing a branch to Augustus Bowers corner chesnut (now James M. Redds) with said line So 60 W 42 poles to a chesnut So. 14 W 42 poles to a chesnut South 79 W to pointers, thence to the Begining. To have and to hold the said Tract of Land with the appurtances thereunto belonging to him the said James M. Redd and his heirs forever to the only proper use behoof and benefit of him the said James M. Redd and his heirs; and the said M. Sandifur for himself for himself and his heirs will warrant the title of the said tract of Land to the said James M. Redd and his heirs free from the claim of the said M. Sandifur and his heirs.
