Stovall/Stovall Deed, 1818 - Patrick Co. VA Patrick County VA. D.B. 5 - pg. 31 This Indenture made the 11th day of March in the year of our Lord Christ, one thousand eight hundred and eighteen between Britt Stovall of the County of Patrick of the one part and Arch’d Stovall of the 2nd ‘Pty.’ of the other part, in witness whereof the said Britt Stovall, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand, paid by the said Arch’d H. Stovall at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained sold released and confirmed unto the said A.H. Stovall, his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land situated lying, and being in the County of Patrick on the north waters of Lovings Creek containing 200 acres more or less and bounded as followeth; To wit: Beginning at a Spanish Oak on a ridge near a path that leads to Eleana Ayers, thence running N. 30 W. 120 poles to a Chestnut Oak N. 82 W. 89 poles to a White Oak hence South 35 W. 124 poles to a Red Oak S. 56 W. 97 poles to a Chestnut tree S. 30 E. 104 poles to a White Oak in Clouds and John Johnsons line with Clouds’ S. 30 E. 180 poles to a Red Oak thence to the beginning, with all woods way water and water courses, fences, trees, orchards Houses and all other the endowments appertaining or in any wise belonging thereto to have and to hold the same to him the said Arch’d H. Stovall his heirs and assigns forever, against me my heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever either in law or equity recovering claiming or having any just right title or estate herein but do by these presents forever warrant and defend the land and premises above mentioned to the P. Arch’d H. Stovall his heirs and successions to hold and fully enjoy the same. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, the day and year above written. Britt Stovall S.S. This deed was acknowledged in open Court to be the act and deed of the within named Britt Stovall and the same was ordered to be recorded.
