Anglin/Tudor Deed, 1859 - Patrick Co. VA ANGLIN TO TUDOR DEED (1859) Recorded in Deed Book 17, page 15, Patrick County, Virginia. This Indenture, made 9th day of August, 1859, between Elisha Anglin, of the county of Patrick & State of Virginia, of the first part, & William Tudor of the second part. Witnesseth: that for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred & twenty five Dollars to him in hand paid, the said Elisha Anglin hath granted bargained & sold unto the said William Tudor one certain tract or parcel of land, lying & being in the aforesaid, on the head waters of the North Mayo river containing Fifty acres, bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at a Double chest nut on the top of the Bull mountain in Hairston's old line. Thence south course to a chestnut & chestnut oak standing together S.E. to a pine tree, thence E course crossing a branch to a Double white oak in said line. Thence condeboreal [sic] line NW course passing James Via to a forked chestnut on the South side of the Bull mountain. Thence west course to a hickory near the head of a branch of Goblintown creek in William Lackey's line. Thence his line west to the beginning. To have & to hold the same with the appurtenances to the said Tudor forever & the said E. Anglin doth on his part agree to warrant and forever defend the right & title of the land & premises to Wm. Tudor & his heirs forever against the claims or demand of any person or persons whatsoever either in law or equity. In witness whereof the said Anglin has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and date above written. /s/ E. Anglin {seal} Patrick County to wit: I, James Joyce a justice of the peace for the county of Patrick. do certify that Elisha Anglin, whose name is signed to the writing within, bearing date on the 9th day of August, 1839 [sic], has acknowleged the same before me in my county aforesaid.
