                    Mrs. Martha Lewis Buried Wednesday

  Endicott, Apr 22--Mrs. Martha Dixon Lewis, 82, died in a hospital Tuesday.  She 
was the wife of Peter Lewis, of the Charity section of Patrick County where she 
had lived for the past 40 years.
  She was raised in the Endicott section and was well known here.  Besides her 
husband, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Wood and Mrs. Statira Phillips.
  Funeral services were held on Wednesday at Charity church, of which she had been 
a faithful member for 40 years.  Services were conducted by Elder J.G.L. Hash, 
assisted by Elder D.P. Jefferson, with burial in the church cemetery.

Additional Comments:
She was the daughter of Isaac Washington Dixon and Catherine Martin.
