THE HENRY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Mon. Evening, Feb. 25, 1935, p. 3, col. 3 
[edited].  Dodson (Patrick Co.).  Mrs. Josephine Martin died Saturday, Feb.16th at 
her home near here of complications.  She leaves to mourn her loss the following 
children:  Mrs. Nannie Betty Cook,  Misses Stella and Dora Martin,  Messrs. 
Clarence,  Ellis, Claude and Murray Martin and the following step daughters and 
sons:  Mrs. Joe Proffit,  Mrs. Lee Holly,  Mrs. Eli Rakes of West Virginia,  
Messrs, Craft,  Press, George,  Jim, Lewis and William Martin.  Also several 
brothers and sisters.  She was laid to rest in the family burial ground near her 
home Sunday afternoon.
