BASSETT & HENRY COUNTY JOURNAL, Thur, April 22, 1954, p. 4, col. 4 [edited].  Mrs. 
Mattie Stone Massey, 68, of the Fairystone Park community, died Sunday night in 
the Martinsville General Hospital following a short illness.  The deceased, a 
native of Franklin County, was the daughter of the late Jim Stone and Betty 
Turner.  Surviving are eight sons:  H. B,  Ellis,  Charles,  Melton,  Harvey,  
Dempsey, John and Harry Massey;  three daughters, Mrs. Lillian DeHart,  Mrs. Annie 
R. Kingerly and Mrs. Gretchen Anglin.  Funeral series were held Tuesday at the 
Union Primitive Baptist Church near Henry and burial followed in the church 
cemetery. 

Additional Comments:
She is buried at Union Primitive Baptist Church which is located at the junction 
of Union Bridge Road and Union Church Road in an extremely remote area of Patrick 
County, Virginia.
