Funeral services for Mrs. Exoney Moran, 96, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bettie Bryant, near Dodson (Patrick Co.), January 9, from the infirmities of age, were held Friday at the home with burial in the cemetery near the home. Mrs. Bettie Bryant, the only child, survives. Mrs. Moran was the last surviving member of a family of 11 children born to George P. and Jane Ingram Thompson, who were residents of Franklin county. Mr. Thompson was a soldier in the war of 1812 from this county. Many of their descendants live in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and other places. Additional Comments: The cemetery near her home is the W.P. Bryant Cemetery which is located on a peninsula that is surrounded by Philpott Lake and a tributary which is located at the end of Will Spencer Road in a VERY remote area of Patrick County, Virginia. It is almost a mile from the gate at the end of Will Spencer Road.
