Buffalo Ridge. Mrs. S. P. Smith, aged 73 years died on February 19th at Stuart hospital where she was carried a few days before, after having suffered a stroke of paralysis on Feb. 12th. She suffered a second stroke just before death occurred. Funeral services were conducted at the home the following day. Burial was made near the home amid the most profuse and beautiful floral tribute ever seen in this community. Mrs. Smith is survived by her aged husband and ten children, Mrs. S. J. Pilson of Stuart, Edd Smith of Welch, W. Va., C. P. and Drewry Smith of Leaksville, N.C., John and Grover Smith and Mrs. Green Pilson of Philadelphia, Ellis of Woolwine and Hoge and Miss Ada Smith at home. All of her children were with her during her illness and burial. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren. She had been central telephone operator for many years and was a member of the Methodist church at Elamsville.
