Henry (Franklin Co.), Va., April 23. - there were many sad people in this vicinity Wednesday morning when the news was sent out that Luther Via, son of Mr. and Mrs. Canie Via of near Dodson, Va., was dead. He had been sick 24 days with pneumonia and typhoid fever. He leaves to mourn his loss a father and mother, two sisters, Mrs. Peat Chaney, and Miss Maud Via and one brother, Mr. Charlie Via, a grandfather and grandmother and a great grandmother and a host of friends. He was about 23 years old. Interment took place on the hill near his home. Additional Comments: The interment took place on a hill near his home. However when the Philpott Dam project was put into motion, his burial location was going to be flooded so therefore his grave was moved to Shady Rest Cemetery which is off Fairystone Highway about two miles past the Patrick-Henry County line inside Henry County.
