Dodson, Patrick County, Va., May 5. - - The people of this community were greatly shocked on Monday, May the 3rd, to hear of the almost sudden death of Miss Martha Wright, age 13, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Wright, death being caused y a hemorrhage of the brain. She was tenderly laid to rest on Tuesday evening near her home. The following acted as pall bearers: Active - J. Lester Roberson, J. A. Turner, Thomas Bryant, H. H. Emberson, O. T. McCray, J. W. Bouldin, H. G. McAlenxander and Peter Martin. She leaves to mourn her loss a devoted father and mother, one sister, Mrs. Ruth Via and one brother, Mr. Charlie Wright of Ferrum. Martha was such a bright and good child, having completed the 7th grade and won her diploma only 2 weeks ago. Those from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Murray Thompson of Stuart, Mr. P. G. Wright and daughter Mildred of Sanville, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Via and Mrs. Bettie Via of Fieldale, Mr. and Mrs. Willie France and children and Mrs. Posey France, Mr. and Mrs. Harden Ingram and baby from Franklin County, and Mr. O.T. McCray and J. W. Bouldin of Martinsville. Additional Comments: She was buried in a cemetery that is now called the Ezra Wright Cemetery which is located on the family farm which is south of Heidelbach School Road.
