Willie G. Carter, the son of John Q. Carter and Nannie Haynes of Henry County, 
Virginia married Ella R.Foley, the daughter of M.D. Lawless and Sarah Houchins of 
the Buffalo Ridge area of Patrick County.  The date of marriage was August 14, 
1942 in Stuart, Virginia.  This was certified by John D. Taylor, the Clerk of 
Patrick County Circuit Court.
