Sharp/Reynolds Bond, 1808 Know all men by these presents that we Abraham Reynolds & Thos. Sharp are held & firmly bound unto his Excellency Wm. H. Cabbell Governor & chief magistrate of the commonwealth of Virginia in the Just and full sum of one hundred & fifty dollars to which payment will & Truly to be made to our sd. Governor or his successors for the use of the sd. commonwealth we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators Jointly & severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals & dated this 29 day of Decr.. 1808. -- The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a mariage shortly intended to be had & solemnized between the above bound Thomas Sharp & Lucinda Reynolds if therefore there be no lawfull cause to obstruct the said mariage then the above obligation to be void or else remain in full force & Virtue. executed in the presence of Abraham Reynolds Seal S Staples Cl.
