Gamble, well-known Norfolk physician, was instantly killed and four others injured at 11:30 today when a sedan and truck collided on Route 52, four miles east of Windsor. The injured were: Mrs. O.F. Marshall, 1125 Bedford Ave., Norfolk, fractured skull, fractured pelvis, cuts about face and leg broken at right knee. L.D. All of the injured were conscious when brought to Lakeview hospital for treatment except Mrs. Marshall, who is believed to be seriously hurt. The Norfolk people were headed toward Washington to attend the annual convention of International Bible Students. Scott and his driver, Billups, were returning from Richmond, where they had delivered a load of corn. While surgeons were dressing his wounds, Jernigan described the accident. He said that he noticed the approaching truck, and that Dr. Gamble had called attention to the fact that it was running in the middle of the road. Billups, while waiting to get on the operating table, said that he did not see the motor car until just before the accident. The car, he said, swerved in front of his truck. Dr. Gamble was instantly killed. His body was brought to the funeral parlors of I.O. Hill & Co. to await instructions from relatives. Dr. Gamble was well-known in Tidewater for his radio lectures and his use of the Abrams treatment, a system for determining the degree of stages of a disease. He was also prominent among the International Bible Students Society. ****************************************************************************** CRASH VICTIMS SHOW NO CHANGE IN CONDITION Dr. Gamble To Be Buried At Old Blanford Cemetery, Petersburg Tomorrow; Inquiry Awaits Improvement of Injured Principals.
