Beasley - 1923 (Will Book 5, page 13, Circuit Court, Petersburg,VA.) In the Name of God Amen: I Mary J. Beasley of the City of Petersburg, Virginia, do make this my last Will and Testament as Follows: 1. In exercise of the power and authority conferred by a certain deed dated the 23rd day of May 1883, executed by Wm. E. Beasley, my late husband and myself to Joseph B. Beasley, trustee, which said deed is of record in the Clerks office of the Hustings Court of the City of Petersburg, Virginia, in Deed Book 44, page 79. I give and devise to my daughter Mary E. Beasley, all of the real estate situated in the city of Petersburg, Virginia, and described in said deed as follows: First, that certain lot of land and appurtenances on the West side of Sycamore Street, being the same that was conveyed to said Wm. E. Beasley by Charles Corling by deed dated Feby.17th 1876, and recorded in Clerks Office of the Hustings Court of the City of Petersburg, in Deed Book No.37 page 424, and second, these four lots of land and appurtenances on Corling Street numbered five, six, seven and eight, which were conveyed said Wm. E. Beasley, by Theodorick Crowder & wife by deed dated March 1st,1881, and recorded in said Clerks Office in deed book No.42, page 520, Reference may be had to said deeds for full description of said lots. 2. I give, bequeath and devise to my said daughter, Mary E. Beasley, not only the real estate hereinbefore mentioned, but all other estate of which I may die seised and possessed, or to which I may be entitled whether the same be real or personal. 3. I appoint my said daughter Mary E. Beasley, executor of this my last Will and Testament, and request that she be permitted to qualify as such without security & I direct that no appraisement of my estate be made. Witness my hand this 5th day of May A.D. 1908. Mary J. Beasley Signed, published and declared by Mary J. Beasley as and for her last Will, in the presence of us, who in her presence, at her request, and in the presence of one another have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. Anne Banister Gill Hill Beasley VIRGINIA: In the Clerks Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Petersburg, on the 18th day of August 1923. A paper writing, dated may 5th 1908, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Mary J. Beasley, late of this City, deceased, was produced before me in my said Office, together with the deposition of Anne Banister Gill, as taken and Certified by R.A. Norris, a Notary Public in and for the City and County of New York, in the State of New York: and thereupon, the said writing, deposition and Certificate being seen and inspected by me, and all appearing to be in compliance with the requirements and provisions of law, and the said writing, dated May 5th,1908, having been duly proved according to law by the oath of the said Anne Banister Gill, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, the other subscribing witness (Hill Beasley) thereto, being unable and incapable of appearing or making deposition in regard thereto, it is ordered that the said writing, dated May 5th 1908, be recorded as and for the last Will and Testament of the said Mary J. In the Clerks Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Petersburg, the 8th day of September 1930, this list, containing the names, and so far as possible, the ages and addresses of the heirs of Mary J.
