Cemetery Location:  16 miles east of Gretna, Virginia on Route #40, thence 50 
                    yards on the south side.  It is on H.F. Wyatt’s farm.
                    Pittsylvania Co., Virginia

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:

Sacred to the memory of
Jessie Buckley
who departed this life on 10th of May 1841
aged about 74 yrs
Few men have exemplified characteristics of a good and useful citizen in a 
higher degree than did Mr. Buckley, industrious enterprising and frugal.  He 
attended to his own concerns without intermedling with the affairs of his 
neighbors.  By a strict observance of this course, he prospered beyond most of 
his neighbors and owned for himself the reputation of an honest man, useful 
citizen and good neighbor.

These stones are all hard, some of them so old it is impossible to read them, 
others are plain hand made stones with no names.

consort of Jessie Buckley
and daughter of Wm. Keatts of Halifax Co., Va.
departed this life on 29th of Aug. 1844

aged about 70 years
Death of the Christian and without full assurance of heaven and happiness 
through out all the endless ages of eternity Jesus can make a dying bed feel 
soft as downy pillows are. Whilst on his breast lean my head and breathe my life 
out sweetly there.
