(1937) DESCRIPTION: [blank] HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Sacred to the memory of Jessie Buckley who departed this life on 10th of May 1841 aged about 74 yrs Few men have exemplified characteristics of a good and useful citizen in a higher degree than did Mr. Buckley, industrious enterprising and frugal. He attended to his own concerns without intermedling with the affairs of his neighbors. By a strict observance of this course, he prospered beyond most of his neighbors and owned for himself the reputation of an honest man, useful citizen and good neighbor. Sacred to the memory of Samuel Buckley born Oct. 10th 1789 Died Dec. 11th 1815 aged 26 years, 2 mo. and 2 days Sacred to the memory of Mrs. Mary Buckley consort of Major John Buckley and daughter of Reverend Samuel Hanks born Jan. 27, 1767 died Apr. 6th 1806 Aged 39 years 7 months and 10 days Sacred to the memory of Carroll Ned Chifnha who was born 1826 and died 1839 Sacred to the memory of James Buckley who died 22nd of Nov. 1835 age about 74 years NOTE: These stones are all hard, some of them so old it is impossible to read them, others are plain hand made stones with no names. Elizabeth Buckley consort of Jessie Buckley and daughter of Wm. Keatts of Halifax Co., Va. departed this life on 29th of Aug. 1844 36 min after 10 O’clock in the morning aged about 70 years Death of the Christian and without full assurance of heaven and happiness through out all the endless ages of eternity Jesus can make a dying bed feel soft as downy pillows are. Whilst on his breast lean my head and breathe my life out sweetly there.
