PITTSYLVANIA CO., VA - CEMETERIES – Cameron Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, Cameron graveyard: 1937 Nov. 11 Research made by Lona Dalton Cemetery Location: 4 miles west of Sycamore, Virginia on Route #643 thence 1 mile north on Route #736, .75 mile on east side of road. Pittsylvania Co., Virginia DATE: 1749. OWNERS: Unknown. DESCRIPTION: In the corner of some woods under a fifteen foot oak tree there are a number of old graves, only two of them have carved stones. This graveyard is about .75 mile from any road. There are several old homes nearby, but none of them are occupied. An old home site has been found near the graveyard, which was probably the old Cameron home although no record has been found to this effect. Even the oldest residents of the community do not know or have ever heard of where the Camerons came from.
