Meadows Cemetery Location: Go 2.5 miles south from Chatham, Virginia, on Route #29 thence 1.5 miles east (left) on route #703; thence 1.1 miles northeast (right) on route #694; thence 1.75 miles left on private road leading to cemetery. Pittsylvania Co., Virginia DATE: 1822. OWNERS: Jamison Carbin 1815. Cemetery reserved by ancestors. Property surrounding cemetery now owned by Harold C. Batterman. (1937) DESCRIPTION: This cemetery had only three graves with markers. And three with just plain field stones at the head and foot of the graves. Cemetery is not enclosed by any kind of a fence, there are several old boxwood and old rose bushes. The field all around the cemetery has been in cultivation for a good many years. Cemetery now overgrown with underbrush and berry vines. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Sarah Carbin wife of Jamison Carbin Died April 5th, 1822 Jamison Carbin Born June 9th, 1788 Married Oct. 9th, 1818 Died Nov. 12, 1878 Charles T. son of Thompson and Sallie B.
