Cemetery Location:  5 miles east of Gretna, Virginia, on Route #40. Thence 4 
                    miles south on Route #665. The graveyard is on the east side 
                    of the road.
                    Pittsylvania Co., Virginia

OWNERS:

Originally owned by Coles family, now in the possession of the Carter family.

DESCRIPTION:

This old graveyard is enclosed by a very substantial rock wall, about three feet 
high.  All of the graves are marked, and with stones from this section, which 
were out and carved here.  The graveyard is covered with briers, vines and 
bushes, and it is very difficult to get through them.  The rock wall is 
surrounded by a large open field and formerly the Coles’ dwelling was back of 
it, but this was destroyed by fire several years ago.
