Pittsylvania Co., Virginia DATE: 1825. OWNERS: This cemetery is located on a tract of land now owned by C. T. Owen, being a part of the lands formerly owned by Sallie A. Hutchings. (1937) DESCRIPTION: This cemetery is enclosed by a high rock wall. There is right much undergrowth and several graves badly sunken. One long slab placed over one grave in which there are two people buried is broken in two places. One or two graves are marked only with rocks and no names. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: In Memory of Charles T. son of John H. & Lucy Lanier Born 26th July 1833 Died 23rd Dec. 1833 Lucy Lanier wife of John Lanier Born 9th July 1814 Died 6th Aug. 1833 To the Memory of Lucy Hutchings Who was born 1763 and Died November 17, 1830 Hutchings (believed to be Moses Hutchings) This tombstone was so badly covered with moss, dates or name could not be read.
