Cemetery Location:  About 7 miles northeast of Chatham, Virginia, at a little 
                    village known as Sonans, Virginia, on Secondary Route #689, 
                    near Sheva, Virginia.
                    Pittsylvania Co., Virginia


DATE:

1833.

OWNERS:

Thompson Robertson Sr. and descendants, J. H. Hargrave Estate.

DESCRIPTION:

The graveyard is enclosed with a high rock wall, and is a short distance from 
the old Thompson Robertson home.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:


Thompson Robertson Sr.
Born April 19, 1785
Died March 30, 1857
In him was realized the plan of God’s noblest work, an honest man.

There was one slab I was unable to get to on account of the bushes, however, I 
am almost sure that it must have been that of Chloe Robertson, the wife of 
Thompson Robertson Sr.
