Power of Attorney – Isaac Gross
15 April 1786
Deed Bk 7, P. 636

Know all men by these presents that Isaac Gross of Pittsylvania County and 
Commonwealth of Virginia for divers good causes and consideration hereunto 
moving have made ordained constituted and appointed by these presence do make 
ordain constitute and appoint my true and trusty friends Jacob Dains & Walter 
Guild both of Pittsylvania County & Commonwealth of afore my true & lawful 
attorneys for me and in my name and to my [illegible] to ask demand recover 
and receive of and from Anthony Asher his heirs Es. Admn. Or assigns or any 
other in possession of all the lands and other property which I lay any claim 
in or to in the county of Baltimore and state of Maryland giving & by these 
presence granting to my said attorneys my [illegible] & full power and 
authority to take pursue and follow such legal courses for the recovery 
receiving and obtaining of the same as I might or could [illegible] were I 
personally present and upon the receipt of the same acquaintance or other 
sufficient discharge for me and in my name to make sign seal and deliver as 
also one or more attorney or revoke at their pleasure and further to do 
perform [illegible] finish for me and in my name all & singular thing or 
things which [illegible] fully through and timely as the said Isaac Gross in 
my own person might or could do in or about the same satisfying allowing and 
confirming whatsoever my attorneys shall lawful do or cause to be done in and 
at the execution of the promise by virtue of these present in witnesses 
whereof I have here unto signed my hand & seal this 15th day of April 1786.
